What are dental implants?

Dental implants are an extremely effective and increasingly popular solution to replace lost teeth.

Dental implants are essentially artificial replacements for the lost root part of a tooth and are anchored in your jaw-bone using a predrilled socket. They are then able to support a crown, bridge or denture. We then place the outer surface of the implant in close contact with the jaw-bone to ensure they will begin to fuse together. This is called osseointegration. This process is done to ensure long term stability to the crown.
